While this website shows only two marches for NC, I think everyone needs to contact friends and family throughout the country. While Mexico is closing public gathering places because of swine flu fears, these people think nothing of gathering in our streets to demand we change our laws to accommodate them.

What do you think the odds are that there will be one infectious carrier among the crowd on May Day?

I really would not be surprised at anything with these "gangs" these days. From what I have been hearing is that swine flu is not a food-borne illness, which means that pork is safe to eat. This virus has begun with human contact with swine (such as workers), who go home and sneeze on someone and that someone, while not necessarily showing symptoms, goes travelling and sneezes. Okay, simplistic example, but this is a bizarre mutation of swine flu combining two forms of human flu, avian flu and swine flu. And health workers are also worried about how quickly this strain can mutate. Currently there are no antivirals (yet) to innoculate anyone.
