July 4th Parade in Carthage

MOORE TEA CITIZENS will march in the July 4th parade in Carthage - gather at 10:30 at the Riddle Equipment Company (John Deere), near McDonald's. Bring a sign or get one of ours. Wear Red, White and Blue. Join us!

What did you all have to do to march in the parade? Did you need a permit? I am wondering if we should try to organize something like that here in Greensboro. I tossed out the idea to some people in an email a couple months ago about making a float but no one wrote me back. But we would still have time to march with our recycled signs in a parade. Anyway, I think you've got a fantastic idea there!

I called Carthage organizer, explained what we want to do - march in parade, stand on sidewalks and wave banners and signs, peacefully protest. We'll decide this week about handouts - no candy, just petitions. Following up on our very successful 4/15 event in Southern Pines (1,000 folks came out to protest) there may be another letter to Washington DC for folks to take home, and perhaps we'll sell some flags, as well as waving them, and also consider selling copies of The Constitution. They were very supportive and understanding - seemed like there were almost no limits.
