| Subject: Comments about Michelle Obama on the white house website - what a crock! IS THIS THE SMOKING GUN? Comparable to Easely? Wed Jun 03, 2009 1:22 pm | |
| Comments about Michelle Obama on the white house website: A product of Chicago public schools, Michelle studied sociology and African-American studies at Princeton University. After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1988, she joined the Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin, where she later met the man who would become the love of her life. After a few years, Michelle decided her true calling lay in encouraging people to serve their communities and their neighbors. She served as assistant commissioner of planning and development in Chicago's City Hall before becoming the founding executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies, an AmeriCorps program that prepares youth for public service. In 1996, Michelle joined the University of Chicago with a vision of bringing campus and community together. As associate dean of student services, she developed the university's first community service program, and under her leadership as vice president of community and external affairs for the University of Chicago Medical Center, volunteerism skyrocketed. Notice how it doesn't tell us anything about what happened to her career after her husband was elected to the state, and then federal Senate, nor what happened to her highly paid position after she resigned to go live in the White House…http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2009/01/chart-michelle-obamas-salary.htmlHow convenient it is to have a wife dedicated to the community and getting others to offer "public service," especially when your husband is running for every kind of public office in the city? What better way to promote your husband than get a job "serving" all the voters in the city? EVEN BETTER to get paid from 100k to 316k a year to get people to offer "public service" after your husband is elected to the State and then Federal Congress? Do you know anyone who gets paid such outrageous wages for community involvement work, regardless of their number of amazing degrees?
If this were a real, normal position, don't you think we'd have a lot more people aspiring to work in community development work? Or does the fact that after she left they purged the position and gave the responsibilities to another current executive already doing their own job kind of stink and leave you scratching your head? I guess this is just more of the change we can believe in...On behalf of SB (Lyniebell)

| How is what happened with Gov Easley and his wife this week any different than what the Obama's did? See my previous post.
It's the same thing!
Why hasn't anyone else picked up on this and brought it out in the open? Is it because Easley wasn't running for Pres? Is it b/c Michelle got a much higher wage increase?
Please, it's the exact same kind of corruption. | |
