Congressman David Price on Secure Communities

Congressman David Price (D-NC) Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee for Homeland Security was interviewed on the Bill LuMaye Show yesterday and he spoke about Obama funding the Secure Communities program, which allegedly will end up deporting over 1,000,000 illegal aliens.

A link to that interview is posted below. Give it a listen, and pay close attention to Congressman Price's choice of words. It sounded to me like the Secure Communities program is being set up to REPLACE 287g (at least to hear Congressman Price tell it). There were a few barbs in his rhetoric which might lead one to believe that he is unhappy with some local jurisdictions currently utilizing 287g, and I for one am highly suspicious why we need a new program when we aren't fully utilizing the one we have. Another troubling aspect of the Secure Communities program is that it hasn't really drawn much fire from the open-borders, pro-illegal immigrant crowd. Some even appear to support it!

Nice catch dogman, I listened to it.

I would absolutely love to read the Secure Communities legislation, because in negotiations, there always seems to be some loopholes thrown in when it gets out of committee, not to mention midnight amendments that no one has read before the vote on the floor.
