A Chinese manufacturer of thermal transfer bar code ribbons will bring about 10 jobs to Lincoln County, the county's economic development association announced today.
Todaytec has leased 6,000 square feet in the Denver Business Park to create the company's first manufacturing and distribution facility in the U.S. – expected to begin running within a month. The company is based in Hangzhou, China, and local officials say it's the first Chinese company to open in Lincoln.
Barry Matherly, executive director of the Lincoln Economic Development Association, said the light manufacturing and distribution jobs will be filled from the Lincoln area.
The county had an unemployment rate of about 15 percent in April.Matherly also said the company could expand its presence in Lincoln in the future.
“For them, it's a start,” he said. “We're hoping that over time they can grow very large.”
